Success of Laser
Laser continues to be a major success story. Since 1996 Laser has been growing from strength to strength as a 'win win' alternative to paper transactions such as cheques, saving the consumer and retailer time and money. Nearly 3 million people now have a Laser Card and in excess of 16 million transactions take place each month. On average, 376 Laser Card transactions take place every minute, which by the end of 2009, amounted to 195 million transactions and a staggering €11.2 billion in retail sales.
As time is of the essence for so many of us, convenience is the key to reducing stress in any day. Laser is so popular because it is so easy to use, it cuts out visits to the ATM or the bank and still allows people to manage their money more effectively than with other forms of payment. More and more people now use Laser instead of cash or cheques for many of their daily purchases and this trend is set to rise in the coming years.
